In fact, my choice is more than five specific artefacts/object. I also found some commonalities to link them. *(Use red colour font to indicate the type of material, Blue colour is the tittle and pencil line is my own thought annotation.) Specific different angle pictures and introductions recorded in previous trip blog.
#The first geometric product was one of the items that impressed me on the first day. What I find magical is that it is a completely artificial creation, so it is means in nature, this kind of shape can not be naturally produced, and the author says this is an experiment creation, so I think it is a very good inspiration source for my fashion design. Those form is unusual shape could be the garment silhouette. If you look closely, you can also find that the way of lighting makes his shadows repeat differently. #The following ruler is more of a flat geometric creation, compared to the craft ornament above. This is a more functional tool. Mentioned in the introduction “practical benefit to designers” Feeling this one can help create a lot of pattern or print inspiration.Meiping Vase was attracted me a lot. Very clean white porcelain except the eyes and tongue are all white glaze. And the author combines the two just because that year is the Year of the Snake. I am interested in the combination of living things and lifeless things, similar to combining animals with objects and finding other samples. Because of the different ages and with differences aesthetic , these artefact are very different, some are just for decorative, some have special functions and some even have religious meanings (can’t really tell if just see it without Introduction)In the silver exhibition area There are a lot of cutlery teapots I drew a lot of their silhouettes and then noticed this work the FLORAL BOUQETFLORAL BOUQET is made by RCA Alumni. This is a recycled pieces and make the tableware turned into flowers. Then I also found a lot of different materials to make the shape of the flower (ceramics and iron)In my opinion, is people like this kind of contrasting feeling, using hard materials to create soft things. Also we could feel the high skill of artefacts. And after talking with Clare I got the words “Permanent” to realized that the limited life of flowers has become a kind of immortal form through these creations.
The arrangement of these carvings has a great commonality with the weaving of the fabric, and can also be used as pattern or print inspiration. The way they link (join/ connect) is a point as well. My idea is to experiment with new arrangements through similar material. For example, using acrylic columns to heat and then bend to create a fabric waving to become a new surface.
Put it simply, this has a certain connection with my previous project (would be expanded project series), which is similar to turning 3D stereo into a plane to flatten the items. They are not completely losing their ups and downs, just compressing them into more smaller space.
After discussion with the Clare, I need to choose one and then do some specific experiments. So I choose the Vase samples try to create some collages to see how it works and effect.
Use the concept of Combination, combine animals and humans, letting this process become invent hybrid creatures. And experiment with garments on animals.
